B-DNA v Z-DNA on Grey
DNA can exist in various configurations. B-DNA, the standard variety with a right-handed double helix, is shown on the left. Z-DNA, with its left-handed helix, is slimmer. DNA encodes genetic information in the sequence of these bases (adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine). The coiling strands are made from a sugar phosphate polymer.
