1. INSERTION MUTATION. Upper left is an additional (inserted) base in the daughter (green) strand.
2. DELETION MUTATION. Middle right is a missing (deleted) base in the daughter (green) strand.
3. SUBSTITUTION MUTATION. Lower left is a wrong (substituted) base in the daughter (green) strand (it should be a yellow base to match with the blue base in the template strand, but it’s a red one instead).
