Three light rays are aimed at a corner cube (three plane reflectors all at 90 degrees to each other). Each surface a ray back in one axis. When the rays bounce off all three surfaces they travel back parallel to their original course. Corner-cube reflectors are in the red tail light reflectors at the back of cars.
