Anaglyph of HPV, Human Papilloma Virus
3D stereoscopic anaglyph (view with red-green or red-cyan glasses). Papilloma viruses are small icosahedral (T=7 symmetry) viruses containing a double stranded DNA genome. Certain species have been implicated in cervical cancer and a vaccine has now been developed against these viruses. The translucent outer layer represents the viral pentamer proteins (arranged as an icosahedral capsid). The inner ball represents the double stranded DNA genome (viral genes).
