DIFFUSION1970-01-01T00:00:00+00:00DIFFUSION: when a gas (or other substances in solution) migrates by virtue of the inherent movement of its particles. This means that there is a net particulate flow from regions of high concentration to regions of low concentration.

GARDEN SUNDIAL
Simulation of shadow cast by a garden sundial on Midsummer Day at the latitude of Greenwich (London, England).
GARDEN SUNDIALS tend to have the dial placed horizontally and the gnomon (the object that casts the shadow) at the same angle as the latitude of the garden. This means that the gnomon lies parallel to the axis of rotation of the Earth. For an explanation of this please see our sundial and Earth animation. The shadow sweeps out a path that is close to regularly spaced for the hours although some adjustment is needed for complete accuracy. As well as plinth mounted garden sundials one can have wall mounted sundials.
