Concave lens (varying curvature) sepia1970-01-01T00:00:00+00:00Animation of a concave lens, showing divergence of light rays. Diverging lenses have a virtual focus and make objects look smaller. Concave lenses diverge (spread apart) incoming light rays. If these rays are traced backwards these imaginary lines conv...PT30Shttps://d3e1m60ptf1oym.cloudfront.net/a01de69f-766d-4260-b2ac-9c589487f17d/LENS-concave-animation-forwards-backwards-FHD-Russell-Kightley_x3_SEPIA_xlarge.jpghttps://d3e1m60ptf1oym.cloudfront.net/a01de69f-766d-4260-b2ac-9c589487f17d/LENS-concave-animation-forwards-backwards-FHD-Russell-Kightley_x3_SEPIA_mp4_hd_video.mp4https://www.scientific.pictures/media/a01de69f-766d-4260-b2ac-9c589487f17d/pricehttps://www.scientific.pictures/media/a01de69f-766d-4260-b2ac-9c589487f17d/price
Convex Lens whose refractive index varies
Parallel light rays passing through a convex lens whose refractive index varies through time. At the start the refractive index is set at one and the light beams pass through the lens without changing course. As the animation proceeds, so the refractive index increases (indicated by the moving triangle and the increasing blueness of the lens) and the light beams are brought to a focus progressively closer to the lens.

Convex lens changing curvature1970-01-01T00:00:00+00:00Animation of a convex converging magnifying lens changing curvature, and so changing its focal length.
Converging lenses have a real focus and make objects look larger. They are used in magnifying glasses, binoculars, telescopes and microscopes.PT20Shttps://d38zjy0x98992m.cloudfront.net/9042131c-f29d-48a7-9e0d-b193d88aad68/Biconvex_Lens_xlarge.jpghttps://d38zjy0x98992m.cloudfront.net/9042131c-f29d-48a7-9e0d-b193d88aad68/Biconvex_Lens_mp4_hd_video.mp4https://www.scientific.pictures/media/9042131c-f29d-48a7-9e0d-b193d88aad68/pricehttps://www.scientific.pictures/media/9042131c-f29d-48a7-9e0d-b193d88aad68/price
