Image of magnetic white dwarf star EUVEJ0317-855, a very massive, rapidly rotating, magnetic star (blue, lower left) and companion star (green, upper left). Notice how the magnetic field lines of the white dwarf break up and particles are flung outwards at tremendous speeds. Very powerful gamma rays are also emitted.
